I don't remember

All of my friends will tell you that I have the best memory. I remember the craziest details from middle school and high school and college. I remember specific conversations from years ago, words to songs from camp when I was 12 and all of my haftorah portion. So you would think that I would remember the details of Max's life and this past year especially since I have made sure to take pictures and video of almost every day of his life, set up multiple websites and this blog. I'm finding now that I don't remember the every day things I did, especially in the beginning. My best friend Rachel just had her baby Gabrielle 2.5 weeks ago. She has lots of questions for me and for the first time I am saying "I don't remember". It seems like I don't have the answers to anything she asks me about when Max was first born. If Max did this or that in the beginning...I really don't know! Its kind of upsetting. During the first 8 months, I feel like we made the trip to Baltimore 100 times but now they all blend together and I don't know which time was what. I also can't remember when we started taking Max out to public places, and what we did every day for those first few months. I'm keeping a daily journal from the beginning with my next baby! So, Rachel I'm sorry I don't remember more, I know you were counting on me to guide you through those first few weeks. You'll see...the details will be hazey for you soon too.
