Tomorrow

I'm not making this public but I'm scheduled to get induced tomorrow morning. I found this out last Friday after my doctor's appt. This is why I decided to take today and yesterday off. I kind of thought I would go into labor on my own and am still kind of hoping that something happens today or tonight but its seeming more and more unlikely. I was 3 cm dilated on Friday and my doctor seemed to think I could go any minute but here we are 5 days later and I'm fine. My doctor is all about inductions and started talking about it back when I was in the first trimester. She said she always offers it for second pregnancies if the patient is "favorable" for it which I am and she said most people take the option. I admit it is nice to know that there is a date and its planned and we have arrangements for Max to be taken care of and for everyone to be there. On the other hand it takes away the element of surprise and going into labor. There are a few medical reasons I would rather get induced which I won't get into but basically I am happy I won't go all the way to my due date or after, my doctor will be the one to deliver the baby and I will definitely be at the hospital in plenty of time (I have heard some horror stories about second labors going very quickly and not getting there in time abd I would not want that to happen). My doctor thinks it should go pretty quickly and I hope shes right. I think its just a hard decision to commit to because god forbid if anything does go wrong I will always wonder if it was because I got induced and what would have happened if I would have just waited it out a few more days. But I mean...I'm 39.5 weeks pregnant, enough is enough! A few things I'm concerned about are sleeping tonight (although the doctor said I can take tylenol pm so I should be ok) and being hungry during labor because I am not allowed to eat after midnight tonight. My plan is to eat a good dinner around 7 or so, then eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich around 10 pm (a good bedtime snack according to the gd rules so hopefully I won't be too hungry in the morning!), take my tylenol pm and hopefully get some sleep before we have to be at the hospital at 7:15. I can't really grasp the concept that I could be holding my baby within 24 hours from right now. I already cried a few times this morning and I think I got it out of my system and now I'm just excited and ready. I'm running a few errands today and of course doing some laundry as always but other than that, I'm just trying to relax and prepare myself mentally for whats ahead. I'm not going to post this entry until after the baby is born because like I said I didn't make this a public announcement that I'm getting induced. I just feel a little weird about everyone knowing exactly when it is. Hopefully the next post I write will say ITS A ______!!!
