Happy Mother's Day!

Before I get into mothers day I'll talk about yesterday. We took Max to first watch for breakfast, we went to Meadowood in the afternoon and we took him to egyptian pizza for dinner. Here are some pictures of him from the park:

I thought maybe I would go into labor this weekend and be a mother of two on mother's day but it didn't happen and I'm ok with it. I can't even explain how I am feeling about having a baby so soon. In some ways I am so ready to not be pregnant anymore. I'm ready to meet the baby and get on with everything. In other ways I want to savor every second that we have with Max and soak up our last days as a family of three. So I'm doing everything I can to prepare and I'm also taking time out of every day to just be with Max and enjoy this time.

I do feel like I am more and more ready every day to bring a baby home. The clothes are washed and I'm washing the boppy cover and a few other things right now. The dresser/changer is put together (we had a handyman do it). We even have "almost" definite names for a boy and a girl. Every day I make sure that we aren't about to run out of milk, yogurt, fruit, diapers or any of the other necessities for Max. My mom keeps saying that they will be able to go to a store and get that stuff for Max if we run out of it but I would just feel better if I know its all here. I was 3 cm dilated at my doctor's appt on Friday. For some people, they are 3 cm dilated when they are in active labor and in the hospital. Others walk around like that for a month. So it doesn't really mean anything. But I know when I was 39 weeks with Max I was 3.5 cm and I went into labor about 4 days later. I am having contractions, but I've been having them through this whole pregnancy so it doesn't mean much. They aren't very painful so I guess they aren't real. I did alot of walking this weekend so maybe that is helping things along.

So about our mothers day. My second mothers day as a mother and my last as a mother of one :)

Max got up before 6:00. He has been doing that and its not fun. I think its because it gets light so much earlier now. He got off to a rough start and was whining and complaining a good amount. Mark took him to get me a card and starbucks. When they got back we decided we had to get him out of the house so I took him to Gigi and Poppops house. We were supposed to go there for lunch anyway. He played for a while over there, ate lunch and then took a nap. Brian and Missy came over and we all had a nice lunch. Max woke up a little while later and we played for a while. Here we are hanging out on the deck.

Its hard to believe I even allow pictures like this at this point

We came back home and played inside for a while. This is one of Max's favorites, The very hungry caterpillar:

and here I am putting him to bed, my favorite part of the day. You can see how hard it is for him to fit on my lap now.

Poor Max has been so frustrated lately. He gets mad so easily and I think alot of it has to do with him having so much to say but not being able to communicate the way he wants to. We are worried about how hes going to do with the baby coming home and all the other changes ahead for him. I think he can only benefit from having a sibling and having to share everything. He won't have a choice! Poor guy.
