Doesn't he have nice handwriting?
Gigi and Pop pop came over to babysit around 6:30 and brought me a really nice straightener for a present which I really needed because mine is not nice. Here we are ready to go out:
They had also treated us to dinner at Tio Pepe's for part of my gift. Here we are right after we got our meal:
We split a crab meat appetizer and a salad, both were really good. Then I got sole sauteed with bananas which might sound weird but was so amazing. It was like mushed up banana with some sauces on top of really good fish. Mark got a boring chicken and rice dish of course but he really liked it. I know everyone typically gets the pine nut roll there for dessert but we decided to try the almond cake which was the same thing except with almonds on the outside instead of pine nuts. It was amazing. I also had a few sips of sangria but as soon as I tasted it I felt like I shouldn't have more than 2 sips because it was so strong! Or at least thats how it tasted to me after not drinking for so long.
We got home and my parents were in the middle of taking some more stuff from the baby's room down to the basement. The crib arrived a few days ago (a baby gift from Mark's parents). So now the only thing in the room is the crib laying on the floor in pieces. The dresser should be here soon and we have to get someone to put it all together. Then all I will need is a mattress and thats really all I'm doing before the baby is born. We have to just bring up the travel crib where the baby will sleep in our room, the swing, tub and other baby stuff from the basement and clean it off. But that can all be done in a day. We're almost there! Oh and my parents also rearranged and cleaned out my whole kitchen closet while we were out.
I had a great birthday. Thanks to everyone for the calls, cards, emails, facebook comments, and texts. I'm lucky to have so many amazing people in my life at 30 :)
