I volunteered to have a student come observe me at school. Shes a senior at Towson. She has to do a certain amount of observations for a class. It was fine, she just saw me working for about an hour. I got this email from her a few days later and it made me laugh. I can just see myself writing something like this when I was in college. Its just funny that I am now the person that a student writes a letter like this to:
Dear Mrs. Fine,
Thank you for allowing me to observe you this past Wednesday, February 11 at Milbrook Elementary. I appreciate the time and effort you spent before the sessions explaining to me your experiences in the field of speech-language pathology. As a Towson University Undergraduate student, I learned a lot from observing your session on working with children. I was impressed by how you interacted with the children, such as your patience and encouragement. I also noticed your ability to be strict yet simultaneously friendly. I look forward to speaking to you again in the future.
I guess I think of myself as still on the same level as her but when I read that I realize that I am so much older and she probably thinks of me as an old lady. Anyway...today I got to school a little late which I never do and I realized I forgot that it was picture day and I missed the staff picture because I was late! For some reason I was really upset. I just think it would have been cool to have pictures of me on that stage at Milbrook when I was a student and then in the same place on staff. I'll have to make sure to be in it next year.
