Its called a babymoon when you go on a vacation when you are pregnant. I think its called a familymoon when you go on vacation with your family while you are waiting for your second child. Tuesday night: We got there late and Max was already sleeping. He woke up a few times during the night because he was a little confused but other than that we all had a good night sleep. Wednesday: We went to the pool, went for a couple of walks and went out to an Italian restuarant for our New Years dinner. We went with Max and Mark's parents and it wasn't the most relaxing meal because Max's videos were not working on the laptop and he wasn't happy. We had to be quick. So we were home on New Years Eve around 7:30and in bed by 10:30! We didn't even see the beginning for the ball dropping festivities Thursday: Mark and I went to brunch at our favorite breakfast place in Jupiter; Hurrican Cafe. It was really good but took a long time so the waitress made it up to us by giving us a free huge cinnamon bun and chocholate chip pancakes while we were waiting for our meal. We had a few bites and took the rest home. It was kind of cold that day so we didn't go to the pool, we just hung out at the house. Max had lots of toys that he liked there and he liked just walking around and opening and closing doors so he was content. We found this burger/arcade place that we took him to for dinner. We figured anything loud would be good and it was. Friday: We went to the pool again and Max wasn't thrilled to be there. Its really hard to have a toddler at a pool because not only is there the fear of him going too close to the water but everything is cement and there is just nowhere for him to go without getting hurt. So we were there for maybe 20-30 minutes each time. Definitely no basking in the sun for us this time around. Its a different vacation with a toddler. We had chinese food at the house for dinner with Mark's parents and their friends, then Mark and I saw Slumdog Millionaire that night. I highly recommend it. Saturday: We thought it would be a good day to take Max to the beach. He LOVED it and we were sorry we hadn't gone there every day. He loved running on the sand which was great because he couldn't really get hurt. He did end up face down in the sand one time which was kind of scary because he got it in his eyes and mouth but he didn't care and was ready to get up and run again right after he fell. He wanted to run into the water too. It was so much fun for him. That night Mark and I went to Nick's Tomatoe Pie for dinner. We always have a date night there every time we're in Jupiter. It was really good. We got home and packed up for our early fight this morning. Our flight was at 6:30 am and then we had a layover in North Carolina and we were supposed to take off at 9:45 and get in at 11:15. The first flight was fine but the second flight we boarded on time but sat on the plane for 2 hours before it took off. They thought there was something wrong with the engine and had to wait for maintenance to check and everything. It was horrible. Mark was having a heart attack because we had switched our original flight to this one so that we would be home in time for the Raven's game at 1. We missed the first quarter but he still go to watch the rest so it was worth it. Needless to say we're exhausted and I can't wait to go to sleep. All in all it was a great trip. The weather was nice and it was a good amount of time to be away. It is just a different kind of vacation when you're away with a young child. Its relaxing because you're not at work but at the same time its not really restful because you're chasing someone around all day and you're never really lounging around doing nothing for too long. I feel like going to work tomorrow is going to seem like a day off! Here are 2 videos of Max at the beach. You can actually hear him grunting. He was originally cracking up but then he ran back and forth 100 times and was so tired it turned into kind of grunting.
And here he is running along side the water. He really wanted to just run right in!
I have to do one of my then and now things so...
Here I am 28 weeks pregnant with Max on the beach in Jupiter:
