Aren't you all lucky...I'm blogging again. I've been with Max all day so there are things to report. We hung out at home all morning. Max took a nap from around 10:45 to 12:30. He got up, I got him dressed and made him lunch. I figured I'd try a grilled cheese even though he never likes them. He ate the whole thing! It was very exciting. Actually I only made him half but he ate all of that. My mom and I were talking about this and we think the trick is to not give him the same thing two days in a row. I get all excited that he eats something so I give it to him again too soon after and then he turns it down. There has to be a few days in between so that he forgets about it and then wants to try it. So now we have more things he is eating regularly....meatballs (I buy them frozen), eggs (scrambled, hard boiled, or fried on bread), yogurt (lots of different kinds), muffins (I get mini muffins or other little muffins from trader joes), grilled cheese, french fries, waffles, french toast, veggie sticks, saltine crackers, dry cereal, cereal bars, lots of different kinds of cheese, applesauce, lots of different kinds of fruit, spinach pancakes (made by Dr. Praeger), milk and juice. Oh and hes still good with snacks...fig newtons, alphabet cookies, fruit snacks, cheese curls, goldfish, etc. So between all of those things its not as hard anymore to come up with adequate meals that are pretty ballanced. I'm happy. There were a few weeks where he literally wasn't eating anything but cheese and fruit so its an improvement. And here is his latest obsession:

Don't worry its empty. He loves to play with my starbucks cup after I'm finished. He runs around with it but really he knows just what to do with it. Does that mean he sees me in that position too often?
Something else that is so funny that hes been doing for a while is he says "da" for yes. The speech therapist in me says that he is trying to say yeah but doesn't have a y sound yet so the d is easier and it comes out like da. My guess is he will be saying yeah or yes in a few months. Actually there have been a few times when it sounds like yes but usually its da and its so cute. The funniest part is "da" means yes in Russian so I can tell people hes bilingual. He says it very consistently...do you want milk? Da. Do you want cheerios "da". Do you want to watch tv? "Da". And when he doesn't want something he shakes his head for no. I would love to get it on video but I'm sure he won't let me.
It was fun spending the day with Max today. I miss the days of having nothing to do and just running errands with him all day. The next time I'm off for a long period of time I'll have 2 kids and it will be so different. I think we'll be off tomorrow too because the forecast is not good. Good night!
