Dear Carrie, Rachel, and Liz
Hey whats up? Sorry for the delayed entry. Its been a tough week. First of all I got kicked out of my room at school. Well not really kicked out but now I'm sharing with the reading teacher and I have to see some kids in the art room one day and some kids in the music room one day. So that was a bit stressful adapting to that this week. I have to push a cart down the hall a few times a week. Its not ideal but its not as bad as it sounds. The kids don't care. We'll see if I'm still optimistic about it at 9 months pregnant when I'm pushing the cart. And I'm making the prediction right now that I'll have the baby on a Tuesday or Wednesday (the days I do that routine). I am also entering the busy season at work where I have so many kids to test and reports to write and meetings to attend. When I first started work I remember looking at all the dates when things were due and thinking...wow the fall isn't going to be bad but oh my god how am I going to get all of that done in the spring? Well now the spring is here already! By the way I am not complaining, I love my schools and I completely lucked out with my situation this year.
So that was what was going on at work. Let me talk about our morning today. Max woke up at 5:45 (his usual) but he went back to sleep until around 7. I should have known something was up because he never goes back to sleep. I went to get him at 7, changed him into his clothes and took him downstairs. I gave him his breakfast (french toast and blueberries and milk) Mark came down and I went back up to get ready. Mark kept yelling up at my "hes not eating" and I was yelling back down "Well what do you want me to do? Give him cheerios or something!" Then a few minutes later I heard Mark telling Max he was being bad. He brings him up and says he smushed blueberries all over himself and spit milk out on his shirt. So we're both saying "Max that is very bad. You're a bad boy" and he was just looking at us like he always does. So I change him into his second outfit (grey pants and a sweater) and was kind of upset because I liked the first outfit (green pants and a thermal shirt).
So I finished getting ready and came downstairs and was ready to go. I was about to put Max's coat on when he got this look on his face that was so sad and he threw up all over himself and on my jeans and shoes! It was so sad because he has never thrown up like that and he didn't know what was happening. He looked scared. He was coughing alot before it happened so I was thinking he ate something too big or too quickly and it made him sick. Then I realized that it looked the same as the "smushed blueberries" that were on his pants before so it was actually the second time he threw up we just didn't see the first time. I felt so bad we were telling him he was a bad boy when really he was a sick boy! Poor Max. We're the worst parents ever. So I took him back upstairs and changed him into his third outfit of the day (a blue sweatsuit). I had to change too. I got to work late. Mark stayed home with him for a little while and he was acting ok so he took him to daycare late. I called daycare around 1 and they said Max wouldn't eat anything and was acting kind of weird. Then they called me back an hour later and described his diaper and said they thought he had a stomach bug. So Mark picked him up. I called the doctor and they said every kid in town has the same thing right now. I got him some pedialyte on my way home. When I got here he was in his fourth outfit of the day...a shirt that is way too small on him that daycare had as one of my emergency outfits and the same pants from this morning. He got paint and milk on his other shirt.
He is acting totally normal, just not really wanting to eat. He had applesauce for dinner. So that was our lovely day. And the worst part...Dayna was supposed to come tomorrow with Parker and Macie. We were so excited to hang out but now they aren't coming because first of all its supposed to snow alot in New Jersey tomorrow and now this with Max. Oh and one more annoying twist to the day...I was going to have my house cleaned since we were supposed to have company so I called to see if they were available this morning. The guy said he would call me back but once I found out Max was sick I didn't want them anymore so I called back and said nevermind and the guy was like ok I don't have anyone to do it anyway. Who do you think knocked on my door at 4:00? Yup, the cleaning people. Similar things have happened with them before so I wasn't that surprised. I told them I had just talked to the boss and he said they weren't coming and we are all home and they can't clean now. I don't think they understood a word I said but they left.
So I have a fun night of doing laundry with vomit on it and cleaning up everything else. And just for the record, in the past week Max has peed on the floor twice (both times in the bathroom right before he got in the bathtub) and thrown up on the floor once (on the wood floor in the kitchen). I'm sure something will happen on the carpet before the weekend is over! I don't even have any cute pictures to end this blog entry with so you'll just have to imagine what we all look like at the end of today.
