The Zoo

As I mentioned below, Max had his first trip to the zoo this weekend. He did pretty well. I remember alot of animals being in cages when I went to the zoo when I was little. Now they are all just kind of roaming around in natural habitats so its harder to see them up close. I'm sure it is better for the animals but not as entertaining for the children. I was like Max look there's a rhino all the way across the grass over there can you see it? He was like mom they are much more fun to look at when I see them up close on TV. I also realized that animals are totally glorified in books and in children's videos. They see a cow happily mooing to Old Mcdonald, and a pig running around with all of his pig friends saying "oink oink". Then you get to the zoo and its a dark, hot, smelly barn with one pig laying there sleeping. He liked seeing the goat at the petting zoo part up close. I think he will probably enjoy the zoo more when hes a little older. It was a fun morning for us though and a beautiful day to be outside. Here are pictures from our first and last time at the Norfolk zoo!
