Bedtime

Or lack thereof. About a week ago...Max just all of a sudden decided he did not want to go to sleep anymore. He used to just go into bed and if it was a struggle at all, it would just be for like a minute and then once we got serious, he would get in and go to sleep. For the past week we have started bedtime around the normal time...7:30-8:00 and he has refused to go to bed and screamed his head off until I end up rocking him to sleep like an infant. It is ridiculous. There were a few nights when he was up until 10 or later! Its awful because it gives us no time to ourselves. Now that Mallory is going to bed earlier (around 8/8:30) it would be nice to have an hour or two to ourselves before we go to bed but I guess we are never getting that until our kids go to college. I think he has nightmares or something because he literally seems scared to go to bed alone. Plus he has been waking up during the night sometimes and crying and I've read that this is the age when they start having bad dreams. Anyway, tonight was the first night he got in bed without a huge fight and actually fell asleep on his own. He talked for a long time and I think he might have been up until almost 9 but as long as its in his bed and he's not screaming, I don't care. Maybe the phase has ended.
