We went to visit Uncle Josh who is working at Airy this summer. He wanted to show us the new bunks and other changes that have been made there. The bunks look nicer on the outside but as a parent, I wouldn't be thrilled with the way they look on the inside. They are soooo much smaller, and the kids are literally right on top of eachother with none of their own space. I remember part of the fun of being in a bunk was you got your little area that was yours and you would decorate it and have it organized the way you wanted (at least thats how the girls were). There was no "area" at all. Just bunk beds right next to eachother with like one drawer and one little cubby. I have no idea how its working out but apparently it is and I guess the boys don't care.
Here is Max in a bunk:

So that is literally half of the bunk. 7 kids sleep right there. There are also no doors on the counselors rooms. There are bathrooms in the bunks though which I guess is better than having to go outside in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom like they used to.
Having a push pop with Uncle Josh:

Walking toward the dining hall

Mallory at the bottom of the hill. Maybe she'll have her first kiss right there at an Airy Dance. Hopefully not for like 15 years though :)
