Dissing on Daycare

Well we've made it through the first 8 days of this situation and my only complaints are: there has been a different daycare provider in Max's room every day that I have been there, he bumped his head on the rocking chair and needed ice on it and I didn't know about it until I got there that afternoon, he has a really bad diaper rash which he has never had before, and last but not least; the main part of his lunch was not given to him today for some reason even though I write a specific menu of what he is supposed to eat for snacks and lunch every day and the container of pasta pickups was just sitting in his lunch bag waiting to be eaten.

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because I know this is one of the best daycares in the area, I know noone else has had these problems, and I know that its a tough time of year with staff going back to college, people going on vacations, etc. Apparently the whole program is changing over in September and things will be better then. I just feel bad for Max. Its traumatic enough for both of us as it is and this just makes it much harder than it needs to be. He hasn't even had the chance to get to know any of the people who work there because there is always a sub in there for some reason. Every morning I feel like I'm leaving him with a stranger again. He cries every morning. It breaks my heart.

Mark's 30th birthday is tomorrow! A year ago today I took this picture of Max and put it in a frame for Mark's birthday present.

Tonight I went to Target and got new throw pillows, a blanket, and an ottoman for the new living room. I'm sure that is just what Mark wanted for his birthday! At least we'll use it all for many more years of sitting on the couch. Speaking of the house...its all done and ready to be lived in. There are still boxes everywhere but it should all be unpacked by this weekend. We're so excited!
