The position

If you have ever spent any time with Max, you've probably seen him with 2 fingers in his mouth and the other hand on his head playing with his hair. Its his trademark position and he does this whenever he is completely content (watching baby einstein or listening to a book or being a part of a music class). He also does it to fall asleep. He started with the fingers at around 5 months:

The amazing thing is...here is an ultrasound of Max at 13 weeks. Its 3d. If you can't tell, he has one hand in his mouth and one hand on his head. Isn't that crazy? So he was in this position in the womb at 13 weeks old and its the same hands too!



The reason I am posting all of this is actually because it has become a problem...he actually twirls his hair now. He does it when hes falling asleep and also when hes content so sometimes he will twirl the same piece of hair for maybe 5-10 minutes. It has been getting into knots and he wakes up with a few dread locks some mornings! I've had to cut a few of them out because they are literally twirled into knots. That is just one of the reasons that its probably time for a real hair cut. I caught him in the act but I only got 5 seconds of it. You get the idea though:
