over a month behind

I'm so behind on blogging that its almost past the point of even trying to catch up. So I won't try to catch up completely. Just a little hello to say I haven't given up on my blog there is just too much going on and sitting down to write and upload and all of that gets put off. It's much easier to just put my favorite on facebook and wait for the comments.

The kids started school and things are ok. Max made a great transition although he's not doing as much in the writing department as many of the kids are. I'm not worried though-he'll get there and besides, who really needs to know how to write well these days? In a few years he'll be able to type and that will be that. Plus who knows what little gadgets kids will have by the time he's in middle school. And anyway, he can count...really high.

Mallory is doing SO much better in every area. She is saying so many words (finally) and is just so sweet and seems more and more like she is heading in the right direction as far as development. That being said, you wouldn't know how well she is doing from what I'm hearing is going on in her 2 year old classroom. Apparently my children don't like to go along with the crowd as 2 year olds and although Mallory seemed like an easier baby I think she is even more strong willed than Max was at this age. It's turning out to be somewhat of a problem in the classroom but we're working on it the best we can. I just keep reminding myself how much Max has changed in the last 2 years and that 2 years ago, I would have never ever believed that by 4 years old he would be going to a "drop off" art party where he sat with the rest of the kids, followed directions, ate a bagel and cream cheese and came home with a little plant in a clay pot that he made. And then told me about the whole party including how he heard the "oh my god song" (black eyed peas) AND the "one that goes yaayayayaay party in the U. S. A" (Miley Cyrus) on the radio at the party. Yes that happened today!! He is a grownup. Mallory will get there.

Or at least she'll be able to sing the basics. Can you make out all 3 songs?

We've done lots of other things this month but I think this will do as far as a "catch up" post. Off to watch desperate housewives!!
