Admitting I don't have a newborn anymore.

I think I'm finally coming to terms with the fact that Mallory is a baby and not a newborn anymore. I've put off so many things longer than I did with Max. In the past week we have done a bunch of things that I have been putting off because I think I just didn't want to admit that shes over 3/4 of a year old already. I was still lugging her around in the infant carseat even though she is over the height limit and is pushing the weight limit too. It just makes it sooo much easier to be out and about when she is in that because she can stay asleep when I take Max to school and doesn't need to be woken up to be taken out of the carseat and into the stroller (the infant carseat just comes out of the car and into the stroller but the big girl carseat stays in the car permanently). So this changes things alot, especially since I'm always running around to take Max wherever he needs to go. Poor Mallory is never going to get a good nap again but I hear that this is common for the second child.

Here she is the first time we had her in the infant carseat:
And here she is 9.5 months later, the very last time in that seat (and probably the last time I'm ever using it as well)

Wow! I remember she was so tiny when we left the hospital...only about 6.5 pounds and her little hips were so tiny the seatbelt was on the tightest it could go and it was still loose. We called a carseat specialist before we left the hospital to make sure it was ok to drive like that. A week later it was fitting fine and now 9 months later I can barely fit her body in there and her feet are hanging over the end of it.

Look at the two of them 9 months ago:
And now:

Goodbye to the days of it not mattering how long I was running errands and never needing to get home for Mallory to nap and being able to sit in starbucks while she stayed asleep in the carseat. Goodbye to lugging that thing in and out of my house and in and out of the stroller and having it sit on my floor in the way of everything and having Max stand on it and use it like a seesaw. And Hello to have a big girl in a big girl car seat:

She looks good in "cowmooflauge" doesn't she?

I also finally lowered her crib (did this with Max around 7 months old) and I took the monitor out of her room. I think I'm pretty much done buying baby food because she is eating real finger food for most meals. The only real "baby" things I have in the main room is the exersaucer which is probably on its way out too and the small pack and play which is really used to just hold toys. She is also moving around so much. I can't truly call it crawling yet because its not the hand knee hand knee movement but its almost there. What happened to my little infant??

First of all, she looks great in cowmooflauge and second of all, this blog made me tear up a little bit. I loved reading it.
