The Best Baby

We really lucked out this time. I mean we lucked out both times because both of our children are amazing, but Mallory is the easiest baby I have ever seen. She hardly ever cries and when she does, its not hard to get her to stop. She very rarely has those crying bouts that Max would have. If shes crying, I just walk outside with her, or dance around a little bit and she stops. At night, I feed her, swaddle her and put her in her crib and put her binky in. I put her in her crib awake and go downstairs and sometimes she will cry and I'll go back in and replace her binky, then she goes to sleep on her own. No rocking, no singing, no nursing to sleep. Its amazing. She has been sleeping from about 9 to about 1 or 2 am. I feed her then she goes back to sleep until around 5 am. At that point I just bring her back in bed with us and try to get another hour of sleep before Max gets up. I just can't get over how good she is and I want to know if it is really because she is good or because we are different in how we react to her. All I know is that the only time Max wasn't crying during the first 6 months of his life was when he was eating, watching baby Einstein or when the vacuum cleaner was on. We had to have strategies for what we would do when he would cry. We would have the vacuum cleaner running for hours at a time because it was the only way to calm him down. We were always scared about taking him out and what we would do if he started crying (actually now that I'm thinking about it, its still the same with him!) I just remember uncontrollable crying for alot of the day. I think you don't know if your first child is really easy or hard until you have a second child to compare it to. Now that I do I can safely say that Max was hard and Mallory is easy. Fortunately it doesn't affect how much I love either of them.

So...thank you Mallory for being so laid back and easy going. Having two under two has been tough and it would be much harder if you were difficult. We know Max pretty much runs the show around here takes alot out of us and its so nice that you are ok with that thus far. We are so lucky to have such a sweet baby girl in our family. We needed one :)
