You're getting sleeeeppyyyyy

Or rather-I'm getting sleepy and I wish I had someone to hypnotize me into a deep sleep because apparently I can't do it on my own. More on that later.

I'm the worst blogger EVER-one post in all of April. I think that might be a record for me. I actually feel like I have been playing catch up for the last few weeks. After all the excitement with my phone for my birthday, we were in Florida with grandma and grandpa for a week for spring break. Mallory was sick the whole time with a cold, Max got bitten by something in the ocean and his eye was swollen shut, so we were visited the urgent care center once for each child, but we still managed to have fun. Here are some highlights

------------------------------------ I don't feel like writing comments on all of those, but you get the idea-we had fun. Someone once told me that vacationing with kids is the same as being at home with your kids except you don't have any of your resources. This is very true. We of course did have alot of help but its just hard to have young kids away from home, out of routine for that long.

It felt good to get home and everyone seems to be back into routine-except me. I was out of whack with sleeping during the trip because Mallory was up alot coughing. Then when we got home, I had a cough so I was up coughing. A few days later I was up early watching the royal wedding (not on purpose-I was just up coughing so I turned it on and then couldn't turn it off). Needless to say, I just can't get back into a good sleeping pattern and I am having a really hard time sleeping at night. That is even WITH over the counter or prescription sleep aids. The past few nights I have found out what it's like to take ambien or take advil pm and then still lay awake. It feels kind of like your body is completley asleep but your mind is still very much awake. Or kind of like sleeping but you're still conscious if that makes sense. Not fun. I welcome any suggestions because I am not enjoying 3 hours of sleep at night. I'm so jealous of people who just get into bed and sleep, I've never been good at it.

Updates on the kids-Max is Max-not much else do say but he just cracks me up sometimes when he sounds like a teenager. Today on the way home from school he was telling me something he didn't like that his teacher said to him-from what I made out he must have been making noise during lunch and she told him to stop. Well he gets realy offended when someone reprimands him in anyway (even though he should be used to it by now) and he will say "Mommy-I don't like when people say things to me". So today I was asking him more about it-"what did she say and why did she say that?" and he said "we're not talking about this anymore". He's just funny.

I think Mallory might be in the midst of a sort of "language explosion". She is starting to say more and respond more. She's still not doing everything I'd like her to be doing at this age as far as her language goes but I'm trying to just give her time. I know I was worried about Max at this age because he wasn't talking much. Then a few months later he was speaking in sentences. Hopefully Mallory will be the same-maybe even a little later considering shes the neglected-I mean the second child ;). One thing that has not improved is how she's doing in the Mommy and Me class-it's just not for her. I've said it before-my kids aren't the circle time type at this age so I need to just accept that. I do feel bad because she's such a happy girl when she's in an environment that she is comfortable in but she steps foot into that classroom and she's immidiately miserable-knocking over chairs and pushing all the art supplies on the floor. The only part she enjoys is gym time. Should be interesting to see how she does when I'm dropping her off for an entire day soon!

Carrie I'm going to write about your visit and Jessica's baby but it has to be in another post, I'm too behind!

Here's to at least 6 hours of sleep tonight. That sounds like a dream! Literally.
