That was a few days ago, and now its more like running. It was such a quick transition. Now she can even walk, bend down to get a toy, stand back up and continue walking across the room. Its so cute to see. I'll be standing in the kitchen and all of a sudden she'll just walk in like a big shot. Its just amazing to see her walking around like a person. Plus I like that she won't have the wardrobe malfunctions shes been having lately. Its hard to crawl and still look good in a dress :)
Here she is on our deck the other day. I don't think she knew we had a deck before this.
Now that she is really a toddler, I'm noticing sooo many personality and other differences between my two kids. Here are some...
Max used to cuddle and still does. He is very hugable. He still lays his head on me and just likes being held and snuggling. Mallory pushes me away and wants to do her own thing. I assume this will just continue to get worse and worse until she is 13 and doesn't talk to me at all.
Max needs adult attention pretty much constantly. He doesn't want to play with his toys. He wants to play with whatever we are doing. If I'm putting on my makeup, hes right there rummaging through my stuff. If I'm in the shower, he strips down and gets in. If I'm on the phone, he needs the phone. Same is true of computer, blackberry, etc. He has always been this way. Mallory sits and plays with her toys.
Max didn't really start repeating what we said or using many words to communicate verbally until close to 2 years old and after. Then of course his language skills took off but not before 2 years old at all. Mallory is already repeating alot and shes not even 14 months. She says Doggie, Max, Layla, bye, hi and other things if shes repeating after us.
Max didn't walk until he was 14 months and it was alot of trial and error to get good at it. Alot of falling and hurting himself, bumping into things, etc. Mallory didn't walk much earlier than that but it was was much more all of a sudden. 2 weeks ago she took her first steps and now shes running across the room like a pro.
Max went right from nursing to using a sippy cup. He hasn't used a bottle since before he was one and didn't have any issues drinking whole milk. Mallory is still drinking from bottles because she spits out milk when it is in a sippy cup.
There are other things but those are the main ones I can think of. Its just funny because with Max, I was concerned about what was normal and when he would do things and why he was doing something differently than another baby. Now with Mallory, I'm not worried about anything, more just interested. I know they all end up doing what they are supposed to do, they just get there in different ways.
One thing they do have in common in their looks. I think in a few years when they are around the same size they might look like twins.
I might have to make this one an abercrombie model though

Hi Kim, still reading your blog when you post, its on my Google Reader:-). Now that I have Spencer I can just see the differences between Cora and him and its really amazing to watch. I really enjoyed this post and I might have to copy you when he gets older just to see what is different about them. Its great to know that your kids are both individuals, that is really special. I still blog as well, hope you check it out once in awhile! www.caplanfamily.com
