Murphys law

Carrie writes stories about her perfect holiday (Her and Matt going christmas caroling in the snow in florida but shes not cold, etc, etc) Well I have to get out my fears for Mallory's party next week and I feel like if I write it maybe it won't happen. Or maybe it will and I can just say I told you it would happen. So, its a first birthday party and its no big deal. But it is the ONE day of the year that is her day and its the first time she really has to be "on". Maybe her baby naming was another time she had to be on but she was 3 months old then and slept through the whole thing. This is different. Plus I'm putting alot of creative energy into this even though I swore I wouldn't.

Ok so....

ear infection or other illness(one or both kids or Mark or I)
no naps that day
rain or some other severe weather
some kind of house malfunction (toilet not working, no electricity, air conditioning not working, infestation of some kind)---funny thing is a few of those are more than likely knowing this house.
not enough parking
not enough room
realizing I am missing a favor for one of the kids
food doesn't come or there is something wrong with it

Ok that's all I say before I jinx myself. Which ones are going to happen? Maybe none? Maybe something totally unpredictable. Bottom line is if one of those things happens life will go on and she'll still turn one and have her party and I'll have pictures to show her everything I did for it. I remember before my wedding I would say to my dad what if this or what if that, like what if the band doesn't show up? And he would say...well, then you'll still be married when the night is over. That was a good lesson dad!

I know this is the silliest blog post ever but I get into these things.

Here she is today at Graul's (actually doing some party preparation)
