You can't really see but it says his name in white letters. There he is with all the things he has to gather before going to sleep. Most recently it has been...daddy's ring, a few pill bottles (they are empty now), a few cell phones, a few cell phone plugs, my book light, a golf ball. I'm totally serious. The things he wants change every once in a while because for a while it was deodorant and contact cases and hes kind of off of those now. I can't wait to tell him all of this when hes older. One of his teachers made sense of it by saying that he wants things that belong to us and things that are real because its a security thing, makes him think of us, makes him comfortable, etc. He doesn't really have a blankey or a stuffed animal that he drags around, so those things take the place of that. Makes sense I guess. He has become such a momma's boy lately. I actually love it. I feel like our relationship is at a really nice point right now. I know that sounds weird to say about a 2 year old but we have been through alot and things were just different between us when I was pregnant and when Mallory was first born. Of course we have our share of tough times every single day but I think there are more good days than bad now. Its so much fun that I can just sit iwth him and have a real conversation. I mean not REAL but I can ask him questions and he answers and I can tell him something we are going to do and he remembers. I can now tell him that we are going to Starbucks and he says "I get a cookie at Starbucks"! I just feel like I am finally able to do more things with him and not be scared that I'll have to run out of the store or where I am with him having a tantrum. I'm sure I'll be sorry I'm saying this but I think the worst of the terrible twos might be behind us? Cross your fingers :)
I don't think I did a 7 month update on Mallory so here it is. At 7 months old (really almost 7.5 now) Mallory:
-is about 26.5 inches long (I think)
-is over 17 pounds
-is eating 2 meals a day and will start 3 meals a day soon
-loves all the fruits and most of the vegetables
-is still 100% breastfed (around 5 times a day)
-is sleeping through the night on most nights!! Around 7pm to 7am! (Max never ever did this, the best we ever got from him was 10 hours)
-gets sat on, rolled on, pushed over, hit on the head, hair pulled all by her brother and rarely complains about any of it.
-Is the most laid back baby and even when she does wake up during the night or early in the morning,I usually don't even know because she doesn't cry right away
-Takes 2-3 naps a day but some are still in the carseat while we are running around and its not at very strict times yet
-sits up very well now and reaches for everything.
-rolls around and can turn to get something she wants but doesn't crawl
-can entertain herself for a good while if I put her in the pack and play with some toys (until Max comes and tries to knock it over)
-is still the sweetest most perfect baby girl ever :)
Here she is today:
Look at Max at the same exact age!
