Lots of Leopard
I've never been that great at shopping (my mom always just brought home stuff for me when I was younger...actually when I was older too!) but now that I am a mom I have to shop for everyone. This is very difficult especially since I have a girl now. Boys are so easy. There aren't many options...there are jeans, polos, running pants, sweats, button downs and t-shirts. Thats about it. So every season or so, Max just needs the next size in basically all the same stuff. And I'm noticing now that he can wear things for longer. He wore a sweatsuit today that he wore when he was 18 months old and it still fits him pretty well. Girl clothes on the other hand are a whole new scenario for me. There are just so many options and it takes me a very long time to figure everything out. For example...I went to Kohl's today to return some pjs my mom got Mallory and get them in the next size. Should be easy enough? Well first I couldn't find the pjs that I needed. I kept finding the pattern I needed but in the wrong size or the same pjs but without feet and I needed ones with feet. So while I was looking for them a few cute girl outfits caught my eye. Some of them had leopard print on them and I remembered that Mallory has a bow that is leopard and that would be so cute if she had an outfit to match. But...there were sweatpants, leggings, long sleeve shirts, jeans, t shirts. All with the same kind of print and I couldn't decide which was the most practical, which would look the best in pictures, which would she get the most wear out of for this season? I finally decided on the sweatpants and found them in a 6-9 month size. then somehow while I was walking around I dropped them or put them down and had to search the whole store for them. Then I realized the pjs I had to return were in my car. I went out to get them then came back in and finally found the sweatpants. Then I got it in my head that I needed to have a shirt for myself that had leopard on it too. So I was on a mission for that for a long time and finally decided on something that I normally wouldn't wear but figured I needed it so I could match my daughter. (really how many more years do I have that she will allow me to do something like this...2 maybe?)I also fed and changed Mallory in one of the dressing rooms while I was there. Finally I was ready to leave and waited in the line then found out I had to do the return at costumer service. By the time I got through that line it was almost 12 and I was too late to pick up Max at school so my mom had to get him for me. I literally spent 2 hours in Kohl's which was my entire morning of free time. I had like 5 other things I wanted to do and I was in there the whole time! It was a very frustrating experience but at least Mallory and I now have matching leopard print outfits. haha. And I also got Max something...some socks. I realized when I started confusing Max and Mallory's socks in the laundry that it was probably time for Max to get some new ones that fit him.
