I think this was the 12th year that there has been some sort of Beach Week at Mark's family's house in Bethany. Mark and all of his camp friends went for their actual senior week and continued to go every summer before camp all the way through college and after. I joined them in 1998 and have been there almost every year since. You can imagine what it was like to have 30 or more college kids in that house at once. There were kids sleeping on the couches, on the floor, beer cans all over. It was a mess. We have so many memories in that house and it was always the perfect start to the summer, especially when we were all still working at camp. Needless to say as the years went by the crowd changed and our time there changed. After college most could only make it for a 3 day weekend if that. Every year there was always the threat that Mark's parents and their other friends who own it were going to sell it and every year it fell through and we ended up there again. Now it is pretty much staying for good. This year was the most different by far because beach week has gone from being a bunch of kids drinknig all week to 3 couples with their babies. We had SO much fun and we're hoping to turn this into a tradition. Who knows...in 17 years Max, Lennon, and Ava could be at that same house with all of their friends! Here are some pictures from the weekend and a few from last year to see how much has changed in a year.
Kim and Lauren May 2007

I was about 32 weeks pregnant and Lauren was pregnant but didn't even know yet!
And here we are a year later with the Max and Ava.

And with Max in 2008

As you can see...they added sand to the beach and made the water much farther away. Its better and safer for the house but we missed being right at the water. The ocean used to even come under the house sometimes. Not anymore.
