Mommy Moments

So that class that Mallory and I are taking? The second one didn't go so well. We were all ready to have a great time in Mommy and Me, I practiced counting to three in Hebrew with her all week long so that she would know when to raise her hands in the air when the lights are turned off (she never got it but she knows something is about to happen when I say Achat Schteim Shalosh!) She was dressed adorably in her Valentines gear. I dropped Max off at 9 and then ran to Starbucks quickly because Mallory's class doesn't start until 9:30 and being there for that extra half hour was just too much last time so I tried to avoid it. We got there at 9:30 on the dot with my tall, sugar free vanilla coffe in hand (more on that later) and Mallory was off playing. There was a sand table there that day and I took her over to show her how to dig, dump and shift. She kind of was into it but was of course more into putting it in her mouth. I learned that it was actually filled with salt, not sand. Maybe to deter kids from eating it? Not my girl. All of a sudden she was coughing a little. Then gagging a little and kind of spit up, not much but enough for me to say "thats weird, she never does that". Then all of a sudden a HUGE amount of throw up (including chunks of her waffle and watermelon from breakfast) were projectile vomited onto the floor. Not only did she eat some salt but she ate enough to inducte vomitting (which I later found out is actually something salt is used for). So as everyone else was in circle time singing "Leo's here today, Leo's here today, lets all clap together cause Leo's here today") I was leaving the pile of throw up on the floor and walking out with my girl in her Valentine leg warmers that I made especially for that day.
That was only the bottom half of the outfit-I changed her out of the skirt and shirt as soon as we got home :(

It was soooo one of those moments where I'm sure all of the other mom's were thinking "thank god thats not me" while I was thinking "of course this IS me"

Here is the Valentine's card I emailed and put on facebook

What's Valentines day without some some fake roses from the Target dollar bins and some homemade leg warmers and a white shirt that I turned blue on photoshop? Just call me Kelle :)

Oh, and what says Love more than a toddler in a dog shirt?

Actually I know what does say love more than that...a Valentine's Groupon to Quarry wine from Mark. lol

and yes I realize Mallory had 4 different Valentine's outfits and I made use of all of them!

The rest of the week was pretty uneventful, except for a 3 day diet that I attempted (hence the sugar free vanilla coffee when I would normally get some kind of latte AND an egg and cheese artisan sandwich). I'm sure I have already gained the 3 pounds that I lost back from eating "normally" today and yesterday. Here is the diet if anyone is interested

I figured after a winter full of indulging in cake balls and oreo balls, I could do 3 days of low calorie eating. I was starving. I mean is anyone really satisfied by a cup of cottage cheese and 5 saltines? please.

Other than that, we have been enjoying the nice weather. Temps got up to the 50s and 60s this week! A welcome change

I will never get sick of seeing her in leggings and boots because unlike on a 31 year old, a 21 month old can get away with a shirt that is not "long enough"

And I will also never get tired of seeing her struggle to stand back up when she is wearing boots

See that weird bird-like statue? She loves this porch, and loves that bird and now whenever we are outside she goes right up to it and says "birdeee" "hi birdee" and some other mumbling but I can usually make out those words.

on another porch she loves

So after not having had my nightly glass of wine during those 3 days of my little diet, I had one last night. I was home alone with the kids and last night was not a good one for my boy. I don't know what his deal is, but this week has been rough. I don't know if it was the wine or just the fact that they are really cute in the bath tub together, but I ended up taking about 40 pictures of them (even though Mark pretty much bans bathtime pics).

I couldn't help myself.

They are looking more and more alike as Mallory is catching up in size, especially with no clothes on and their hair wet!

I then continued to take 30 more pictures of Max in her crib with her even though she was being tortured. I was thinking that maybe deep down in that 3 and half year old brain of his, he was smothering her with love and not just smothering her to smother her.

Can you tell how terrified she is in some of those?

I've been putting some extra time in with Mallory just because I feel like she needs some more stimulation than she has gotten in her first 21 months. I remember feeling the same way with Max, he wasn't talking as much as I wanted him to and as he got closer and closer to 2 years old, I got scared and turned on the speech therapist switch. I'm doing the same with her, although this time its harder with Max answering everything for her and taking any toy out of her hands. She really has no reason to talk. Anyway, Max notices any extra second of attention that she gets and takes it out on me and everyone else. He has also been saying "I don't feel good" "I'm tired" and "my knee hurts" for the past few days. I'm not sure if he just thinks those are fun things to say or if he really doesn't feel good but I made a "just in case" appointment at the doctors for tomorrow afternoon because knee pain is a sign of Lyme's disease and I'm just making sure...even though his knee looks fine and he's running around like nothing is wrong.

That's all...I think 3 days of starving and then having a glass of wine makes for a good blog post, No?
